Green America (www.greenamericatoday.org) is a nonprofit, membership organization whose mission is to harness economic power – the strength of consumers, investors, businesses, and the marketplace – to create a socially just and environmentally sustainable society.
We are seeking a student (undergrad or graduate level) with strong research and writing skills, as well as an interest in corporate responsibility issues. The goal of the Responsible Shopper program is to help individual consumers evaluate the social and environmental responsibility of large corporations and find ways to use their spending and investing to support the best companies and practices. The intern will take part in in-depth research on corporations and help to write profiles of companies and industries. The intern may also help write content for our www.responsibleshopper.org website in general.
An ideal candidate will:
- Be interested in social and environmental corporate responsibility issues and have some knowledge or experience in the area
- Have strong research skills in general, and know or be willing to learn how to use internet-based searches and/or electronic databases to research companies and verify information obtained
- Have strong writing skills
- Be able to work independently and take initiative
