Congratulations to Dharma Merchant Services
Winner of the Annual Green Business Leader Award
Green America presented this year's Green Business Leader Award to Dharma Merchant Services, a registered Merchant Service Provider offering socially responsible and certified green payment processing. Read the press release here.
As a socially responsible business, Dharma Merchant Services donates 10% of processing profits to the charity of each merchant’s choice. Dharma Merchant Services has completed the Bay Area Green Business program, holds the Green Business Network Seal of Approval, and has been vetted as a certified B Corporation for two years in a row.
We honor the efforts of the other four nominees for the Green Business Leader Award: Ecowood Displays (Mount Shasta, CA), Salazar Packaging (Plainfield, IL), and Vital Hemptations (Santa Monica, CA). Thanks to Green Business Network member Shasta Visions for providing this year’s award.
The Green Business Leader Award is given to an extraordinary company or business leader that has led the way in creating a just and sustainable society, who has demonstrated consistent leadership on behalf of people and the planet and whose efforts are at the forefront of the green business movement.
Past winners have included Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps (2003), T.S. Designs (2004), Habitat Suites (2005), New Leaf Paper (2006), Organic Valley (2007) and Mr. Ellie Pooh (2008).
Green Business Conference attendees vote on nominees. The 2009 award was voted on and announced at the 2009 San Francisco Business Conference.
