Green Business Conference—Register and Save $120
Our Green Business Conference has hit the social networking world—and Twitter postings from Whole Foods to lawyers are calling it an excellent program and a must-attend event.
We have designed the conference to help you discover new ways to prosper in the new economy—from new social networking tools to accessing the stimulus dollars.

Climate Ride's '09 Rally
Green America has a Climate Ride team in the five-day ride from New York City to Washington, D.C. starting on Sept. 26. The ride ends at Capitol Hill on Sept. 30 with a rally and people can join the last 16 miles of the ride to the finish.
The rally on the Capitol's West Lawn at 4 p.m. will outline bold legislative action for climate change and renewable energy. Guest speakers include Alisa Gravitz, Bracken Hendricks, Betsy Taylor, and members of Congress.

Green Festival Comes to Washington DC and San Francisco
Washington DC – Oct 10-11
San Francisco – Nov. 13-14-15
Inspiring speakers, green living and energy tips, and great green products will highlight this fall’s Green Festivals. Speakers include Ed Begley, Jr., Dr. Cornel West, Lester Brown, Amy Goodman, John Robbins, Lynne Twist, John Perkins, Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Dolores Huerta, and hundreds of others.
The events feature the Hemp Products Pavilion, Fair Trade Pavilion, Green Home Pavilion, green films, kids’ zone, organic food/beer/wine garden, and workshops on everything from composting to green jobs. Over 700 Green Business Network members will be exhibiting their products—and making it a great place to do green holiday shopping and grow the green economy.

Hundreds of Members Participate in Stimulus Webinar—See it online!
“The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act: A Webinar for Small Businesses and Nonprofits” attracted over 400 green businesses to learn about the opportunities on accessing money for their businesses from the Recovery Act.
Green America, along with Green For All
, Tides Center
, and Association for Enterprise Opportunity, sponsored the webinar, which featured speakers from the Department of Energy and the Small Business Administration.
The webinar highlighted emerging opportunities to leverage stimulus dollars and provided examples of best practices from across the country. It also covered the new Capital Access Program (CAP) that will create, sustain and scale green jobs in the US and increase capacity of businesses and nonprofits as leaders in the green economy.

Fair Trade Month and Reverse Trick-or-Treating
Green America is again teaming up with Global Exchange
to present reverse trick-or-treating, in which children reverse the Halloween tradition by handing Fair Trade chocolate back to their neighbors. Last year more than 47,000 households learned about Fair Trade chocolate thanks to Fair Trade trick-or-treaters.

Green America’s Better Paper Project Partners with Barnes & Noble
Barnes & Noble stores nationwide are partnering this month with Green America’s Better Paper Project and Next Steps Marketing to promote magazines using recycled paper on special magazine racks in over 240 of their largest stores.
Ten magazines participating in this month’s promotion include: Tricycle
, Mother Jones
, Natural Home
, Make, Miller-McCune, Mothering, VegNews
, Grit
, Stanford Social Innovation Review and The American Prospect
. In this second year, 33 magazines have taken part in this Barnes & Noble promotion.
